The ACOP has a fabulous spring conference planned in Louisville, Kentucky from Thursday, April 6 through Sunday, April 9, 2017! Why Louisville? STUDENTS! There are many osteopathic schools within driving distance. Many students make for a lively, well-balanced conference. Louisville is also home to the Kentucky Derby, Louisville Slugger, and the hometown of Muhammad Ali.
A pre-conference special session (separate registration required) on Thursday, April 6, will be an afternoon on pediatric allergy and immunology which should provide the attendee 5 AOA Category 1A CME credits.
The main program begins on Friday, April 7 and we anticipate being approved for 19 Category 1A CME credits. The conference theme is Medical Home, and will feature childhood obesity, mental health - bipolar disorder, pediatric pulmonary problems in the primary care office, OMT for respiratory issues, extremities and torticollis, vaccines for adolescents, a vaccine panel discussion, cerebral palsy, caring for transgender youth, pediatric board review/Jeopardy, common pediatric office dermatology problems, in-office dermatology procedures, insulin metabolism disorders, and new metabolic emergencies: CAH, Hypothyroid.
In addition to informative lectures, interactive panel discussions, and hands-on OMT sessions, the conference will feature the 2017 James M. Watson Memorial Lecture, a moderated poster session, Member Business Lunch and Awards (open to all attendees), committee meetings and an evening reception with our amazing exhibitors.
Well, there you have it. Enjoy your colleagues, meet new ones and enjoy the friendship of the ACOP! Make a student feel wanted by the ACOP while you're at it, too! Just have a great time!
I look forward to seeing everyone at this conference!
